In the capital of Georgia, the first case of Covid-19 has been confirmed at the end of February. The statistics slowly rose up, and in March, in order to avoid high risks, our city was put under lockdown. The global pandemic has affected the lifestyles of every living creature all around the world, bringing along changes with many crucial advantages, as well as disadvantages. The first and most important pro is nature “getting a break” from humanity. During the universal quarantine period, when moving by cars had limitations, air pollution noticeably diminished. For several days the citizens were enjoying the fresh air even in the central streets, which was incredible. On the other hand, the restrictions have devastatingly influenced the majority of people, who were used to the routined modern lives. In these contemporary times, when people are so regime-oriented, locking them up can really have a fatal impact on their psychology. Even if we just consider the issues mentioned above and say nothing about a bunch of other complications, it is enough to admit that the coronavirus has had an immense effect on our daily lives. The first stage of the pandemic, entering our new lives, was about perceiving what we were going through. Then there came the second stage when we kind of adapted to living with the virus. But now that the world got fed up with it, the second wave of the virus comes our way and we have to cope with it as well. Taking into consideration the fact that there is no way out to evade fighting with the virus, we have to follow the guidelines of healthcare and stay home! For this reason I can give you some tips from my personal experience of how to spend our precious time as productively as possible, instead of wasting it while being in isolation.
Keep In Touch With Your Loved Ones! The pandemic may cause some obstacles in terms of going out and meeting people physically, but we shouldn’t allow it to change our humane relationships! Do not let the disease infect your connections. We should make the chains of communications with each other so that nothing can break our relationships down, especially when we, fortunately, have such great platforms that facilitate everyday conversations. I am sure that the majority of us enjoy watching movies in a friendly environment, not to deprive ourselves of that pleasure, you can arrange a Netflix Party which lets you watch videos with your friends and chat together at the same time. Besides having fun, we must look after our dear ones, especially in hard times like this, as support is one of the most precious things we can give.
Do Not Become Enslaved By The Gadgets! Take care of your health and do not damage vision at the expense of endless scrolling on social media. Due to the pandemic, we attend online classes during the daytime, and then do the homework on the computer, so we spend too many hours under the radiation. Of course, in order to maintain communication with the outside world we need to use technologies, but try to set yourself specific time limitations not to sacrifice your eyes to having fun, and use the gadgets only in case of necessity.
Try New Things! It is never too late to find out and explore your new interests and hidden talents. Looking through social media, you would have noticed that all of the famous people post about their new discoveries. While living in strict routine people did not have enough time to observe their opportunities, now that everyone is being locked up, we can do things that we have never tried before! This is the perfect opportunity to take online classes in the spheres you have always been interested in, but never had enough time to devote yourself and relish. For example culinary, photography, music, dancing, and so on.
Set Up A Healthy Schedule! At home, everything is in your hands. You are the boss of yourself and can do whatever you wish. The main premise is to have a desire. Home staying is the best opportunity for adapting to a healthy lifestyle. You can track your balanced diet instead of eating junk food. When people are bored they usually start eating snacks endlessly which creates many problems for both health and weight. Attend online classes of physical education, watch some work-out videos, and try to exercise. Soon your body will become used to it, and trust me, you will defeat the temptation to be lazy. The pandemic can end as unexpectedly as it has started, and instead of just laying down in your bed without moving you can use your free time productively. Keep in mind that exercising and a proper diet makes your immune system much stronger and that way nothing will be able to defeat you!
Establish Healthy Sleep Habits! Nowadays, it is much easier to manage time, as we no longer have to go to school for lessons at 9:00 am. In this situation, the morning routine is much more flexible, as we wake up later and can just get out of bed several minutes before joining the zoom meeting. As we know, sleep has the utmost importance in our productivity and effectiveness, so being at home gives us the greatest opportunity to regulate our schedule.
And finally, Encourage Positive Emotions As they Are Contagious!
Remember that you are not alone in this crisis! Don’t be stressed out and try to focus on the positive things as they can outweigh the bad ones! With our common effort and strong will, we can defeat the virus and live freely again, while we are limited in certain fields let us explore more deeply the ones that are open. We can make this challenging time fun!
