Why You Should Try Climbing at GZAAT

Of the 33 students that were surveyed in an 8th-grade GZAAT survey only 15% (5) said they took part in climbing. This is one of the many examples of rock climbing being underestimated and we ought to change that. Here are some of the many reasons you should try rock climbing.

1. It’s free for GZAAT students

When having PE class just go to the big wall in the corner of the room and tell the instructor/teacher you want to climb. From there on, he will tell you what to do. It’s a great opportunity that not many schools offer, however some people back down from it. Often the reason is they think they need some kind of basic experience of climbing or that they need special footwear to climb, but this is false, you can still climb perfectly without them.

2. It’s a full-body workout.

When playing other sports such as football you mostly use your feet, but when Rock climbing you have to grip with both feet and hands, thus it exercises all of your muscles. sometimes you find your muscles hurting in a place where you didn’t know a muscle existed. Climbing on a wall is not something you can manage while being uncoordinated. After gripping a distant climbing hold you must follow it up by moving your feet with it. After a few sessions, your body will automatically do this without thinking about it. This teaches your body to work together too.

3. Challenging.

Climbing is very much a sport of “ practice makes perfect “. at the beginning it provides you with tough challenges, which you think you can never complete. After a while, you will definitely make it. Gripping onto a seemingly distant climbing hold or finishing a route with only particular colors are some things you will learn to master when climbing. GZAAT students say they enjoy rock climbing precisely because it is challenging.

4. You don’t compete with others.

By far the best part about amateur rock climbing is that you do not compete with anyone. This is a contrast to football, basketball, and even volleyball. It gives rock climbing a more peaceful and less serious view. All of us have had the moments when a team captain yells at us for not being good enough. well, this is not a thing anyone can tell you when climbing, only you yourself have to catch up to your record and this means you can improve way faster.

Climbing exercises every part of your body, helps your body coordinate, and gives you a tough challenge to complete. These are only some of the reasons why you should try rock climbing in GZAAT. Still, the biggest reason is that it is fun. But as with everything else, it would be best if you tried it yourself. Now go let climbing ROCK your world! But also remember to choose a trusty person to hold your rope...
