In the 21st century, people, especially our generation, become more and more attached to their technological devices. Since this academic year started with distance learning, using technology in our everyday life has become unavoidable. Of course, spending hours in front of the screen is terrible for your physical health. There were some questions asked to a few GZAAT students to hear their personal experiences about this subject.
The first question asked if they had any problems with their health due to their screen time. The most common answers were that they had headaches after spending several hours in front of the computers. They said that after attending different online classes and then having to do their homework most of the time on their computers caused them headaches. We also need to consider the fact that when the students have free time, the majority spends it by scrolling through social media, watching tv shows or movies, etc. This means that the students spend most of their days staring at their technological devices.
Another issue was connected to their eye problems. “Generally, I have had some problems with my eyes in the past. Since online school started, I have had to sit in front of the screen almost every day for 8 to 9 hours. This made my eyesight worse than it had been before. Sometimes, I can’t even see the text written on the screen. When this happens, I have to wear my glasses and use eye drops.”- said one of the students. From this, we can see that sitting in front of the screen can cause such problems to students and even worse problems to the students who already have eye problems.
In the end, we can see that the students in GZAAT spend too much time sitting in front of their computers or other devices, which is extremely bad for your physical health. Most students struggle with headaches and eye problems after staring at their screens all day. The solution for that is to at least spend our free time outside and go for a walk or spend some quality time with our families.
