As we all know, on Monday, the 19th of October, GZAAT held student council elections. Every class chose their president and their vice president. In grade 10, the president of the sophomores became Shoti Sikharulidze and the vice president, Zura Gigineishvili. I decided to interview our class representatives and ask them about their plans, goals, difficulties, expectations, and so on.

Here's how the interview went with our new vice president, Zura:

Interviewer: Now that you are the vice president of our class, tell us, do you have anything planned for the future?

Zura: Yes, of course. I have a lot of plans, such as tournaments, zoom meetings, and other activities that I am working on. I can't wait to introduce all of my ideas and projects to the class.

Interviewer: How has the pandemic affected the working process?

Zura: Unfortunately, Covid cases are rising every day. Our class has moved to online education for

a while because of the outburst within the classmates. It is truly disappointing that we can not plan any physical activities, especially when Halloween is so near, but, on the other hand, now we have time and the ability to plan some fun activities via zoom.

Interviewer: How has working with Shoti been going? Have you faced any difficulties?

Zura: Working with Shoti has been amazing so far. I genuinely get pleasure from working with someone who has so many creative ideas and so much motivation for working. I have a lot of ideas as well, so we are always cohesive. I hope our work continues this way!

Interviewer: Did you already get to experience the meeting with the assembly?

Zura: No, I have my first meeting tomorrow, and I am very excited and interested in what will happen. I feel like we will do amazing things this year! I feel like it will be a fantastic experience and that our ideas will be heard and appreciated.

Interviewer: Thank you, Zura, so much for your time.

Zura: Thank you for the interview!

Here's how the interview went with our new president Shoti:

Interviewer: Now that you are the president of the sophomore year, tell us a little about your goals. Do you have anything planned for us?

Shoti: Yes, of course, I have many creative ideas and plans for this year. First of all, I think that our classmates need to be more involved in social activities. The previous year I did not notice any activities which my classmates headed. Same with me. I was too lazy to participate or make up any new activities, but this year is different. I will do my best to create an environment that will make students participate in various activities. So my biggest aim is to make students' social life more eventful.

Interviewer: How is the pandemic affecting your work?

Shoti: Pandemic is the greatest obstacle for my plans, but I still think it is possible to have a wonderful social life via zoom. For example, I will invite famous people to a zoom meeting in which students can ask them questions. Also, I am planning to create student support hours in which students can learn things from their classmates and write their homework together, e.t.c This way, they will enjoy doing the assigned work. This type of activity will not require physical attendance. Of course, if we can come back to school, there will be some other fun and exciting activities!

Interviewer: I heard that you would have your first meeting with the council tomorrow. What are your expectations for it? Are you excited?

Shoti: It's my first council meeting. I can't imagine how I can not be excited :) I've never had that kind of experience before. In that meeting, Zura and I will talk about the interests of sophomore students and hope to get to know other members of the student council. It is the first meeting, so I guess it will be more like an introduction.

Interviewer: Tell us a little more about your website. What will we use it for?

Shoti: Many people ask about that website, and they do not understand how useful it can be. Website development is still in process, and I am still adding new things to make it more helpful and practical. First of all, there will be a blog page where all of the news will be uploaded, polls for certain topics. For example, flashcards in biology that will help students memorize essential parts in the textbook, a calendar that will remind people of significant events in GZAAT, a Contact us page where you can talk about your activity ideas and send questions to representatives. Special thanks to Giorgi Kakhiani for helping in providing new ideas and in designing/developing our website.

Interviewer: Tell us a little about your experience with working with Zura? Have you faced any difficulties yet?

Shoti: I felt relieved when I realized that Zura would be a part of the student council like me. The whole class is so hard to manage for one person! I mean, there are 75 of us. But Zura is a very organized and creative person, and already, he has helped me elaborate on a lot of new ideas. Both of us will head every activity, and we won't be doing any separately. There have been no difficulties. As I mentioned, we have already begun working together, and we didn't have any problems. I think we make a good pair.

Interviewer: Lastly, tell us something about your expectations. Are you excited about this year?

Shoti: Of course! We have a lot of things to do. We already have so many activities planned, which I want to become real, and I promise I will do my best for students to have the most comfortable environment possible. I will pass all of my information about school and council meetings to them, and I will help them to socialize as much as possible.

Interviewer: Thank you, Shoti!

It seems like Shoti and Zura are very excited and determined to make it the best academic year for the sophomores. And we, sophomores, are very thrilled to see how they'll help us.
