Biden has been inaugurated and the celebration has started. Now that the racist tyrant orange man that is Trump has left the office the world will undoubtedly be a better place, or not? Unity should be restored in America and everything should go back to normal, should it not? All of America’s problems should now suddenly be solved.
This talk about unity over the last couple of months is great, however, the main question is: what does Joe Biden really consider unity? Biden has been quite vague when discussing the matter. Does unity mean that we should be respected in our opinion and have open/truthful discussion and let each other be, or whether by unity Joe Biden means that he will impose a left agenda, and disagreeing with his policies will be unacceptable; therefore they are to blame for non-unity and he will use the government to make them obey him. So unity can be held in one of two ways, let us hope for the former. Joe Biden’s main battle (if he wishes to be a unifying President) is not with the right, it should be had with his own party, the left. Now more than ever the left seeks vengeance, censorship of the right, and control over the institutions of power so that they can force people who disagree, agree.
The clouds have finally parted and the rays of sunlight are finally shining down because Joe Biden is the new President of the United States. Now that Trump is gone, we will never again be lied to. Now the President is the most honest politician of all the politicians and the most honest of all humans. In fact to quote Dana Bash from CNN news “anybody who has any connection to reality should have said the adults are back in the room.” So now everyone including the media can sleep well, knowing they have the most honest person occupying the White House with around 70 years of experience being an adult.
Jen Psaki, the White House Press Secretary for Joe Biden states that the new office wants to bring back honesty and transparency and that they have a brilliant plan to stop Covid. Joe Biden even tweeted that he would not stop the economy, he would stop the virus. You may ask what the plan is. It is quite simple actually. Wear a mask… Problem solved right? The pandemic will suddenly be over. It is not as though this has been tried all over Europe and generally has not worked.
Not only did he say Americans needed to wear masks, but he also signed an executive order that anyone who enters federal property needs to have a mask on. Masks are definitely effective, however, they are not a solution to the pandemic. We should indeed all be social distancing and wearing masks, however, there is a minor problem. Joe Biden, upon being inaugurated, started strutting around the federal property without a mask.
Now to most objective journalists, this would seem like a reasonable issue to raise, but we know that the media have retired due to America now having the most transparent and adult administration. This sort of lackadaisical attitude should be acknowledged. After all, Trump was excoriated for his disdain for most of the coronavirus precautions. He thought that wearing masks was not always necessary, and he lived with the consequences, ending up in a hospital with the virus.
Fortunately enough, Peter Doocy from Fox News had the audacity to ask Jen Psaki about it. Joe Biden encourages mask-wearing, in fact, he signed a mandate into law, how come he is not wearing a mask himself on federal land? Well, Jen Psaki responded with the sort of honesty and transparency that we can hope for the next four years. Her answer was: it was a historic day and he was celebrating with his family. Well, I personally did not realize that there was an exception to this law if a person wants to celebrate. Many people have been canceling important events such as weddings, funerals, and seeing their loved ones. This is not as much about policy, as it is about hypocrisy. The side that promises truth and transparency has lasted around 24 hours maybe.
The Biden administration has spent its first two days explaining that there was no distribution plan left by the Trump administration. Nancy Pelosi even said that the administration had no plan: “This was just another in the series of their terrible, ineffective approach to it. After calling it a hoax, we find it that they did not even have a plan.” The millions of the vaccines that were shot into the arms of Americans already, apparently, happened so without a plan.
This is quite spectacular. Trump, the man without a plan, managed to ramp up the distribution of vaccines to one million a day. These are obvious lies, however, the media will just repeat them. NBC’s Kristen Welker claims that the new administration has to start from scratch. Of course, they say this because it sets the expectation that anything mildly good Biden does is a success. Dr. Fauci, the greatest doctor of all time according to the left, directly contradicts the administration he now works for by saying that they are most certainly not starting from scratch. The plan Biden proposes will provide 100 million vaccinations in 100 days.
This, to people who have little knowledge about the issue, sounds amazing; except this is a huge underachievement because under the Trump administration over a million shots a day were already injected. So what they are proposing is to continue what Trump left off. Jen Psaki is so honest and transparent about this when she says this is a major improvement in comparison to the Trump administration. She claims that the Trump administration averaged around 500 thousand shots a day. Well, that is true, however, that is not relevant. On average does not mean they put out 500 thousand shots a day; it means that on the first day there were less than 500 thousand and it grew increasingly to over a million, for an average of 500 thousand.
That is like saying Elon Musk made 0 dollars for the first 15 years of his life and for the next 15 years of his life made say 100 billion dollars. Was he earning more than a billion dollars a year when he was 3 years old? Of course not. When you take the average of escalating numbers, what matters is the final day before Biden took office. The amount that was being injected on the last day, the number being over one million. To conclude, instead of ramping up the vaccinations, they will maintain the number that the Trump administration handed off. When Biden was asked this in an interview right before he walked out, he snapped at the reporter, telling them “Come on, give me a break, man!” But then again, it is no wonder he needs a break from all the slow walking lately.
