Upcoming Movies 2020-2021

Movies are a great source of entertainment and an opportunity to gain knowledge in any topic or genre. They may also be called pieces of art. A majority of people love watching movies, some even consider the process as their hobby. 2020 is a very stressful, strange year, which made us face many challenges. Annually, many new, interesting movies would come out, however, due to COVID-19 and our current situation, lots of premieres were delayed. Regardless, we still have a list of upcoming movies, which may be very enjoyable to watch.

I conducted a poll asking GZAAT students which movies they were most excited to see. The results showed that the 5 most expected movies are:

Cruella, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Black Widow, Wonder Woman, and No time to die. In this article, I will try to give you insight with some details about them.

Cruella

Cruella is a well-known villain from Disney’s animation 101 Dalmatians (1966). Now, she will also be known in a movie of her own. Emma Stone, a famous actress, will play the main role of Cruella. The film itself will be about the character’s youth, her life, and the original story before everything that happened in our nostalgic animation. Walt Disney Studios revealed the possible release date of the film, May 28, 2021.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

The movie series called, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them first came out in 2016. It continued the wizarding, magical world from the Harry Potter movie series. Unfortunately, it did not gain as much fame as Harry Potter, which was upsetting for all

the creators. Regardless, Warner Bros did not lose their hope and decided to make a third movie, which they assume will be successful. We can suppose, as its author, J.K. Rowling accidentally revealed that the movie will be set in Rio de Janeiro in the 1930s.

The new film should have arrived in cinemas on November 20, 2020, but because of the current situation, this date has been postponed, it will release on November 12, 2021.

Black Widow

Black Widow is an essential member of the Avengers in the Marvel cinematic universe, however, she hasn’t had her own movie. The film’s premiere has been delayed for a whole year, it was meant to come out in April 2020, but was postponed to May 7, 2021.

The movie is set prior to the events of Avengers: Endgame and is the origin story of Marvel's antihero - Black Widow. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as the titular character. It should be very fascinating, especially for those interested in action, adventure, and heroic genres.

Wonder Woman 1984

Wonder Woman is another movie from Warner Bros. Its original release date was June 2020 but was moved to December 2020. Warner Bros came out with a statement concerning the film: “Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big-screen adventure finds her facing an all-new foe: The Cheetah.”, which gives us a little information about the movie, and that it is set in the U.S.A.

The movie is about Diana working an ordinary job while dealing with her immortality, which is very hard on her, as she is left without her close ones due to their death. Her life becomes full of loneliness, the only joy she receives is from helping other people in need.

In the new movie, Wonder Woman will be wearing a new costume, which is depicted on the picture:

No Time to Die

No Time to Die continues the story of James Bond, a British agent. It was the first movie to delay its release date from April 2020 to April 2, 2021 because of the pandemic. The movie will be about James Bond who has retired after his long years of work, however, his retirement does not last long and soon enough he is needed again to help solve the problems which arise in the film.
